Code Of Conduct For Students

Students admitted to this college should abide the following rules and regulations

  • Student must report the commencement day of every term.
  • Student should carry identity card with them while present in the campus.
  • Attendance for independence, Republic Birth and Death anniversary of great Indian personalities is mandatory for all the students.
  • Student must be in uniform everyday as per the dress code except Thursday.
  • Student should read the notice and emails regularly.
  • It is mandatory for the student to make minimum 80% attendance in theory as well as practical courses.
  • It is necessary for all student to make hygiene everywhere in the campus.
  • Use of mobile phone is strictly not allowed in classroom.
  • Student should attend the guest lecturers /seminars organized by the college.
  • Active participation from students in extracurricular activities as expected.
  • Student must be present in every mentor meetings conducted throughout the year.
  • Home assignments, test, tutorial, seminars are compulsory for all students.
  • Damage of any college property caused by students will be duly recovered by them
  • During examination students should carry admit card and hall ticket.
  • Any type of misbehavior in college campus is strictly prohibited.
  • Student should always avoid the use of plastic as well as other to do the same.

The Student Welfare Scheme looks after the protection of rights and supervises the Development activities of the students of our college. Student Welfare Scheme promotes and co-ordinates the different students’ activities for better corporate life. Mentor – Mentee Scheme

Mentoring is not a panacea for all the problems and issues related to personal and professional life of your mentee and his/her family. The essence of mentoring is the sustained human relationship. Your commitment and dedication to your mentee may be the most profound opportunity that you experience. The quality of the relationship you build directly influences the life and future of your mentee. Please exert every effort to maintain professional standards, improve your mentor skills, and exercise good judgment when engaged in any activity involving your mentee.

Mechanism

  1. A committee is constituted every year consisting three members of each faculty and a chairman.
  2. Equal no of students distributed to the each mentor.
  3. After the distribution of students the chairman instructs and guide mentor about the scheme.
  4. Code of conduct and guidelines are provided to each mentor.
  5. Mentor has daily contact with mentee students through classes.
  6. Mentor Conducts periodical meetings with mentee students.
  7. Problems and issues of mentee sorted by the mentor.
  8. Mentor submits annual report of his mentee students at end of academics.
Aims & Objective

Mentor Guidelines And Code Of Conduct

As A Mentor You Are A: Positive Role Model And Career Counselor.

Please read carefully, the following guidelines and your roles as a mentor-

  1. At the initial stages, your mentee may appear to be hesitant, unresponsive, and unappreciative of the mentor-mentee relationship. This guarded attitude is simply a manifestation of his/her insecurity about the relationship. The mentee’s attitude will gradually take a positive turn as he/she realizes your sincerity about being a good guide in terms of mentor.
  2. Like any other relation mentor–mentee relationship has an initial phase. During this phase the mentee is more interested in getting to know how “real” you are and how much he/she can trust you. So give adequate time to buildup the mutual faith and trust.
  3. Establish how you can reach your mentee: by phone, e-mail, or at a designated meeting location like class room/ tutorial room (most preferred). As far as possible all meetings should be scheduled in advanced and should be in notice to the HOD/Dean/Principal.
  4. Don’t try to be teacher, parent, disciplinarian and psychotherapist during mentor mentee
  5. Don’t criticize or Think of ways to solve the problem together rather than lecturing or telling the mentee what to do. Never have a negative attitude towards your mentee.
  6. Respect the uniqueness and honor the integrity of your mentee and influence him/her through constructive feedback.
  7. Always explore positive and negative consequences of each and every point/matter/issue.
  8. Be encouraging not There is a big difference between encouraging and demanding. Encourage your mentee to complete his/her education and pursue higher learning or professional goals; provide access to varying points of view.
  9. Assist your mentee in making the connection between his/her actions of today and the dreams and goals of tomorrow. Don’t get discouraged if the mentee isn’t turning his/her life around or making great improvements.
  10. As a teacher cum guide you can share and advise, but know your limitations. Never be very personal and share personal You should preferably interact with your mentees in a group.
  11. Problems that your mentee may share with you regarding substance abuse, molestation and physical abuse are best handled by professionals. If you have any concerns, contact the higher authorities immediately.
  12. Be supportive of the parent, even when you may disagree. Don’t take sides or make judgments concerning any family conflict or situation. Leave the parenting to the parent.
  13. There may be instances when your mentee’s behavior is unacceptable. Explain to your mentee why you find his/her behavior unacceptable. Don’t forget to inform the parent about the steps you took and why you took them.
  14. Never use abusive or unprofessional language.

Attainment Of Pos, Psos And Cos

Introduction

The institute measures the levels of attainment of course outcomes, programme specific outcomes and programme outcomes. The teachers and students are oriented towards PO, CO and Curriculum. Emphasis is being given to skills, competencies and attitude along with communication skills apart from theory knowledge.

Aims and Objectives

  • To inculcate the concept of Outcome Based Education amongst students and faculty by enriching the curriculum with well-defined POs and COs and its curricular mapping to emphasis learning outcomes and its evaluations during Internal Assessment by the faculty.
  • To give emphasis to combine knowledge, skills, competencies, scientific temper, analytical ability, spirit of enquiry, research cult, communication skills, attitude and values ethics in curricular transactions and evaluations.
  • To enhance the curriculum by offering Value added/Add on courses and encourage students to achieve overall academic excellence.

The course outcomes is measured through syllabus, completion of syllabus, continuous evaluation (internal evaluation), setting up of question paper, evaluation, and result. Teachers measure the course attainments in classroom interactions, question-answer session and personal counseling. Faculty takes efforts to complete the syllabus in time and conduct extra classes if necessary. The continuous evaluation is done through tests, quizzes, written assignments, oral presentations, field work and so on. Performance of students is observed through activities such as sports, cultural, debate, elocution, N.S.S. etc. Course outcome is also measured through awards and prizes won by the students. The programme specific outcomes is measured by taking the aggregate result of all courses in a given programme. The attainment of programme outcomes is measured through students progression to higher education. Attainment is also measured through students placement in companies and institutions. The feedback system of different stakeholders which is in place in the institute helps to measure the attainment of the programme outcomes. The online student feedback system provides information related to the relevance of the course, availability of the course material, and importance of courses in terms of employability. The institute has also utilized student satisfaction survey developed by NAAC.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The institution has a grievance redressal cell. It looks into general and academic complaints of the staff and students. It promptly tries to offer solutions for their redressal in periodical meetings of the committee. The staff and students are notified to put their complaints about administration, accounts, finance and library, academics etc. in the suggestion/complaint boxes located in the main building, library. If the grievances are not within the purview of the committee, then the issues are brought to the notice of the authorities.
